1. Rationale:
a. Describe the need or problem addressed by this activity.

1) Background
In semiconductor equipment,
- Periodical process maintenance without replacement of equipment parts can be carried out by Host command if equipment provides executable maintenance program.
- Host can allocate the maintenance time through the production schedule without affecting equipment performance and production quality.

This new standard intends to provide the way related to cyclical maintenance which is already implemented similar activities by equipment supplier.


2) Purpose
- The purpose of this new standard is to provide a communication method to allocate and control the maintenance time through the host.

2. Scope:

1) In scope
This standard provides definitions and limitations to control the maintenance program those related parameters, commands and state model etc.
It will define an interface from host to equipment to control the maintenance program.

2) Not in scope
The time of sending a maintenance program command should be decided by host which is based on maintenance correlated variables. However, these variables are not included in this scope.
