1. Charter: (State the objective of the proposed TF.)
To organize discussions in Japan to cooperate with the Fab & Equipment Information Security TF under Taiwan Chapter and the Fab & Equipment Computer and Device Security TF under North America Chapter of Information & Control GTC.

2. Scope: (Define the specific activities that the TF will conduct.)
To cover the following items raised from the Fab & Equipment Information Security TF under Taiwan Chapter of Information & Control GTC.

“To develop fab and equipment information security standards with input from device makers, equipment suppliers, and software vendors. The Task Force will initially focus on establishing:
1. Definitions and metrics for information and operation security
2. Standards for software and tool vendors to follow to properly manage and solve software end of service (EOS) issues to prevent virus attacks, especially on older equipment
3. Standards to build up a security management and control monitoring system across all vendors for device makers to accurately and quickly monitor, control, and manage the status of all equipment in the fab”

Additionally, to cover the following items raised from the Fab & Equipment Computer and Device Security TF under North America Chapter of Information & Control GTC.

“To develop computer and device security standards with input from the device makers, equipment suppliers, and software vendors. The Task Force will initially focus on establishing:
• Definitions and metrics for information and operation security;
• Standards to ensure computer security in the fab through the full life-cycle of new and existing equipment, devices, and software;
• Standards for high-speed monitoring, control and management of equipment, devices, and factory computer security, to provide improved security management and control capabilities.”
