The “Specification for Sensor/Actuator Network Communication Specification for Modbus/TCP over TCP/IP” (SEMI E54.9) lacks specific support for the Generic Equipment Networked Sensor (GENSen) specific device model, as specified in E54.24 of the SEMI E54 Sensor/Actuator Network standard. The proposed activity corrects this by enhancing SEMI E54.9 accordingly. The enhanced E54.9 specification will allow users to support devices with GENSen specific devices models on this network communication medium enhancing interoperability of these networks.

This ballot will be a revision to E54.9.

The ballot will propose line item additions and/or changes to E54.9 to make it more aligned with E54.24 by providing the necessary additional information to support the GENSen specific device model.
