1. Rationale:
a. Describe the need or problem addressed by this activity.
(Indicate the customer, what benefits they will receive, and if possible, quantify the impact on the return on investment [ROI] if the Document is implemented.)
Accept Ratification Ballot comment on the definition of end face in section 4.1.1 of Doc. R5775D.

4.1.1: the second sentence has to be removed. It is an explanation and does not belong into a definition.

During March 29th, 2019 Spring Meeting, the TC Chapter agreed to issue a line item change once Doc.R5775D is published.

b. Estimate effect on industry.
1: Major effect on entire industry or on multiple important industry sectors - identify the relevant sectors
Sector or Company Information:

c. Estimate technical difficulty of the activity.
I: No Difficulty - Proven concepts and techniques exist or quick agreement is anticipated

2. Scope:
a: Describe the technical areas to be covered or addressed by this Document development activity. For Subordinate Standards, list common concepts or criteria that the Subordinate Standard inherits from the Primary Standard, as well as differences from the Primary Standard:
4.1.1 is the definition of the terminology for the end face of sapphire single crystal ingot. The second sentence is removed to make the definition more accurate.

The original text :
4.1.1 end face — The end face is a planar face at the end of sapphire ingot perpendicular to the axis. The ingot has two end faces, the upper one is labelled as E1, and the other is labelled as E2 shown in the diagram (Figure 1).

Will be modified to:
4.1.1 end face — The end face is a planar face at the end of sapphire ingot perpendicular to the axis.

b: Expected result of activity
Line-item revision to an existing Standard or Safety Guideline

For a new Subordinate Standard, identify the Primary Standard here:
