1. Rationale:
a. Describe the need or problem addressed by this activity.
(Indicate the customer, what benefits they will receive, and if possible, quantify the impact on the return on investment [ROI] if the Document is implemented.)
The following changes are required, requested and agreed through the application studies and prototyping.

>Addition of ready check and abort function to Material Handshake.
>Optimize handshake scenarios.
>Change MD ownership change timing.
>Improve State and Transition table format.
>Simplify and improve document format and quality.
>Correct typos.

b. Estimate effect on industry.
4: Slight effect or effect not determinable
Sector or Company Information:

c. Estimate technical difficulty of the activity.
I: No Difficulty - Proven concepts and techniques exist or quick agreement is anticipated

2. Scope:
a: Describe the technical areas to be covered or addressed by this Document development activity. For Subordinate Standards, list common concepts or criteria that the Subordinate Standard inherits from the Primary Standard, as well as differences from the Primary Standard:

Make following changes and corresponding changes. Note that some of the following changes are technically independent of one another, but they may not be broken up by document composition, so they may be incorporated into single line item revision.

>Improve Data Handshake with required modifications such as:
>>Shorten GD Valid duration for sequence simplification

>Improve Mode Resolution Handshake with required modifications such as:
>>Add capability to check readiness of Receive Port before assert Send request.
>>Add capability to Receive Port to decline send request
>>Add R_RDY signal for above purposes.
>>Replace X_MODE by simultaneous use of S_MODE and R_MODE for above revisions
>>Obsolete redundant states found through above revision works

>Improve Material Handoff Handshake with required modifications such as:
>>Limit ST0 to internal preparation and change starting condition by Starter Port
>>Add handoff Abort capability during Pause (Add ABORT signal)
>>Revise MD Ownership Change timing

>Add Related Information on SEMI A1 Services and Events for User Application

>Improve document readability and quality by making editorial changes and corrections such as:
>>Replace State and Transition tables with improved format
>>Reduce optional Setup Time and Hold Time from Logical Signal charts and move to one table
>>Add explanations, reduce duplicated explanations
>>Correct typos

b: Expected result of activity
Line-item revision to an existing Standard or Safety Guideline

For a new Subordinate Standard, identify the Primary Standard here:
