Revised (if Applicable):
LINE ITEM REVISIONS TO SEMI E10-0221: Specification for Definition and Measurement of Equipment Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) and Utilization
Originating Global Technical Committee:
Originating TC Chapter:
Task Force (TF) in which work is to be carried out:
Equipment RAMP (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Productivity) Metrics Task Force
Note: If a new task force is needed, also submit a task force organization form (TFOF)
a. Describe the need or problem addressed by this activity.
(Indicate the customer, what benefits they will receive, and if possible, quantify the impact on the return on investment [ROI] if the Document is implemented.)
SEMI E10 was recently revised, but some inputs received during the voting process need to be addressed as improvements to the document. In addition, there is new content being developed jointly with the I&CC PCS taskforce to be included. Finally, additional investigation and document updates based on implementor questions and voter inputs on previous ballots will be performed.
b. Estimate effect on industry.
1: Major effect on entire industry or on multiple important industry sectors - identify the relevant sectors
Sector or Company Information:
Semiconductor, PV, MEMS/NEMS, FPD, HBLED
c. Estimate technical difficulty of the activity.
II: Some Difficulty - Disagreements on known requirements exist but developing consensus is possible
Describe the technical areas to be covered or addressed by this Document development activity. For Subordinate Standards, list common concepts or criteria that the Subordinate Standard inherits from the Primary Standard, as well as differences from the Primary Standard:
Line item changes to address:
· New terms and definitions for advanced notice model (joint work with PCS TF).
· Clarifications on applying E10 for AMHS equipment.
· Clarification related to the reliability Extended Growth Model.
· Revise consumable part definition and time frame referenced (<1 yr).
· Update definition of ‘failure’ to address safety errors.
· Clarification on initiation of equipment state transitions.
· Clarification on use of the Productive (PRD) equipment state.
· Any minor editorial changes discovered, and correction of any minor technical errors found in development especially for compliance to the Style Manual.
b: Expected result of activity
Line-item revision to an existing Standard or Safety Guideline

6. Intellectual Property Considerations:
For a new Standard or Safety Guideline and for any part to be modified or added in a Revision of published Standards and Safety Guidelines
the use of patented technology is NOT required.
