1. Rationale:
a. Describe the need or problem addressed by this activity.
(Indicate the customer, what benefits they will receive, and if possible, quantify the impact on the return on investment [ROI] if the Document is implemented.)
In recent year, the signal of the human brain, heart and muscle are emphasized gradually for analyzing and recording the physiological signal, the signal of muscle can be recorded by the electromyography (EMG) that is better applicable to analyze the human health. Flexible Hybrid Electronics (FHE) and electronic textiles are the one of the appropriate choices to link the human body and the electronic sensors for sensing EMG signal. Therefore, FHE and electronic textiles are treated as the integrated substrate for mounting the electronic sensors, sensing and analyzing EMG signal. In order to constitute the efficient supply chain, test flows and align the various test methods, this test method aims to implement and elucidate the measurement and analysis of EMG signal.

b. Estimate effect on industry.
2: Major effect on an industry sector - identify the relevant sector
Sector or Company Information: This SNARF can be applied in wearable industries for flexible electronic development, testing and quality assurance

c. Estimate technical difficulty of the activity.
II: Some Difficulty - Disagreements on known requirements exist but developing consensus is possible

2. Scope:
a: Describe the technical areas to be covered or addressed by this Document development activity. For Subordinate Standards, list common concepts or criteria that the Subordinate Standard inherits from the Primary Standard, as well as differences from the Primary Standard:
1.This SNARF recommends the EMG sensing technology and the measurement method to measure the physiological signal. The document will focus on defining the measurement, the procedure, the material, the evaluation and the report.
2.IEC 60601-2-47 standard has been cited, the basic conditioning of EMG sensing technology, the basic conditioning includes linearity and dynamic range, common mode rejection, gain accuracy etc. The above parameters are gain by the waveform and the frequency of EMG. In this SNARF, the waveform of EMG will be measured for analyzing the characteristic, this waveform characteristic is the key to calculate the frequency.
3.The document applied to the EMG measurement, this measurement includes (1) the standard source, (2) the experimental structure and (3) the signal analysis. The standard source can be performed as continuous signal input for completing the measurement method.
4.This document describes the experimental structure, that includes the specifications of the conductive traces, the touch materials and the signal sensor. The conductive traces are ensured the stable and smooth conduction of signal. Furthermore, the specifications of touch materials and the signal sensor are determined for embedding tightly into electronic textiles, and flat closely on the skin simultaneously.
5.This document provides the method of the signal analysis, this method is designed for processing the waveform of the EMG signal. Basically, the frequency of the EMG signal is extracted by the processed waveform.
This test method applies to define the overall module of the EMG measurement of electronic textiles.
